Solo exhibition by Oromo artist Lokho Kotile exploring emotion, chaos, and rediscovery through abstraction.
Join us for the opening reception of Lost in Abstraction, a solo exhibition by Oromo artist and curator Lokho Kotile at the African Museum Arts & Cultural Center.
This collection explores the artist’s emotional landscape during a period of unrest and uncertainty. Through abstraction, color, and expressive movement, Kotile turns to play, curiosity, and creativity as a way of rediscovering herself. The works invite viewers into a space of reflection, reminding us that even in moments of chaos, art can guide us back to clarity and connection.
Guests are invited to experience the exhibition, meet the artist, and attend a short artist talk where Kotile will share insights into her creative process and the themes behind the work.

Little Africa Art Residency
Our Art & Culture Initiative is dedicated to uplifting artists, storytellers, and cultural workers within our community by creating spaces for creative expression, dialogue, and connection. Through exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative programming, we center voices and narratives that reflect the richness and diversity of the African diaspora. As part of this initiative, we are proud to introduce the Little Africa Art Residency, a program designed to support emerging and established artists with time, space, and resources to develop their work while engaging with the local community.
